Summer Reading Sponsorship

Dear Community Member,

Summer reading is just around the corner. This year, Marion Carnegie Library is planning for a summer full of COLOR! Summer reading program is the library’s largest program of the year. Each summer reading program has grown bigger and better than the last. Each year we are blown away by our attendance and participation. Last year, during the peak of the pandemic, our staff modified the summer reading program in a matter of days to provide an educational outlet for our community. We successfully reached over 300 community members, including children, teens and adults. In order to provide this programming, we need support from businesses like you.

Traditionally, the library has upward of 600 summer reading challenge participants, thousands of visitors and tens of thousands of books read! Through program sponsorships, our library can offer an abundance of high-quality programs that will engage and inspire the community. Any donation, small or large makes a significant difference in our program! Summer reading is designed to encourage literacy development and retention through engaging activities. Reading programs also strengthen community bonds through interaction and communication.

Each library department has paired educational, recreational and informational programs that create a unique and fun-filled way to spend the summer. We are working hard to make this summer reading the biggest and best that our community has seen! All our programs and activities are always free and open to the public. These events would not be possible without your generous support.

Thank you for your consideration and generosity. If you have questions, please contact Sarah Watkins, Coordinator of Library Services at (618) 993-5935.

Thank you for all that you do for our library.

Sincerely,

Sarah Watkins
