LIBRARY POLICIES - Internet Policies |
||||
|
Library cardholders are given a copy of the library's Internet Use Policy when applying for a card. Visitors will view a copy of the policy and must accept the terms of the policy to begin their search on computer terminals at the library. Copies of the full policy are available upon request. The policy is also posted at the service desks. The Marion Carnegie Library employs filtering software that will block access to certain sites that contain objectionable images or language per the Supreme Court's decision with regard to the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). Adult patrons 18 years of age or older may request that the filter be disabled during an individual search session. However, the library's Internet Use Policy remains in effect and prohibits access to objectionable sites. Patrons who violate the library's policy in this regard will have their access to the Internet terminated. Patrons using their own laptop computers in the library to access the Internet are also subject to the library's Internet Use Policy. |
