Title: Coordinator of Children’s Services

The City of Marion has a full-time Coordinator of Children’s Services position open. The successful candidate will: plan and implement programs including summer reading for children ages 0-12 and story time for babies, toddlers and preschoolers; coordinate collection development and maintenance of children’s materials; promote the use of the library through displays, talks and community events; help develop program and service marketing materials; stay aware of professional trends and continually work to improve children’s services; supervise other employees and volunteers working in the Children’s Department and manage the overall activities of the department.

Required Qualifications: AA Degree from a community college in areas compatible with library services such as English, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, etc. BA or BS degrees in these areas is desirable. Proficient with computer and digital devices, related software and internet; excellent interpersonal communication skills; management and supervisory experience and two to three years of relevant experience is desired.

Benefits: Salary $15.00 per hour, paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.
