Hello Library Lovers,
I am excited to announce we are offering curbside service!
Curbside is limited to Marion Carnegie Library’s collection. A limit of 5 items can be placed on each card. Current items checked out can be returned in the book drop.
All holds must be placed online through your library catalog account. To log into your account visit http://search.illinoisheartland.org/ and use your barcode and 4 digit pin code to log in.
Item requests can begin today, with curbside starting on Tuesday. All items must be ordered by 10:00 a.m. the day before, in order to be ready for the following day. If you order Harry Potter on Monday at 9:00 a.m. it will be ready to pickup by Tuesday. If you order Harry Potter on Monday at 4:00 p.m. your item will not be ready until Wednesday.
Curbside hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This service will be unavailable from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. for staff lunches. When picking up items, patrons will pull into a numbered parking spot, call (618) 993-5935 then press 2. You can then notify staff which spot you are in and your items will be delivered to your vehicle.
Please have your trunk or side door open in order for staff to execute a contactless pickup.
A few things to keep in mind at this time:
-Library staff is extremely limited, currently, we only have a handful of employees working to provide you materials and planning our next steps.
-Items cannot be shipped through Interlibrary Loan at this time. Please make sure all items are currently at our library by making sure it is “available locally” in online card catalog.
-You will be notified in your preferred manner which requests we were able to fill.
-The library will hold items for one week after the request is processed.
-Please return all Marion Carnegie Library materials in our library book drop. All materials returned to other libraries will not be available for check out.
-No fines have accrued during the library’s closure.
-All outstanding library fees, over $1, accumulated prior to our closure must be paid in order to use curbside service. Fines must be paid in cash, with exact change. Your library account will indicate if fees are owed.
-We will not be accepting donations at this time.
The library building will remain closed to the public until further notice. Please be assured that staff is working diligently to offer more services in the near future. If you have any questions, feel free to call us at (618) 993-5935.
We are glad to be back and hope you are happy and staying healthy!
