We invite local businesses to host informational programs for the community. The library is expanding its programs specifically for adults, and businesses are being provided with the opportunity to partner with the library to bring programs to the community.
There is interest from the community in programs for adults on a wide variety of subjects. To expand programming, experts in their field are asked to become partners in the library’s mission to be a source of information not readily available from the library staff. For instance, a bank could provide a program about loans and mortgages, while a bridal shop could offer tips for the perfect wedding.
Local businesses may choose a month in which they host one program at a fee of $25 or host two programs for a fee of $50. Depending on the program, this amount could purchase refreshments, craft and activity supplies, travel expenses for entertainers and speakers, supplemental materials for workshops or materials on the program subject to expand the library’s offerings.
The business will be able to offer a program related to its area of expertise. The library will also publicize the business during the month on any printed programs or advertising related to the event. Marion Carnegie Library offers businesses a meeting room with a screen, sound system, computer access and various seating arrangements to accommodate up to 60 people.
Our thanks for your support will include:
- The opportunity to present programs to the public on the topic of your expertise. You can present 2 programs during the month you sponsor or 1 program during the month you co-sponsor.
- Press releases with program information and post-program story will be sent to local media.
- Distribution of your brochures and advertising at the month’s activities.
- Recognition of your business in the library during your month and on any printed programs or advertising related to those events.
- Certificate of Appreciation for display or for your records.
- A copy of the library’s newsletter to keep you informed of all of our happenings, including the sponsor/sponsors of the month.
