LIBRARY POLICIES - Behavior

 

We want your visit to the library to be a positive experience. The comfort and safety of all our patrons and staff are important to us. Use of the library is intended to be for reading, studying, writing, and listening to written or electronically transmitted materials. Meetings between individuals are to take place in approved meeting room space or the study rooms. To insure that the Library may provide an atmosphere conducive to appropriate use of its services and facility, and for the comfort and safety of our patrons, the Board of Trustees has adopted the following policy. The Director and supervisory staff have authority to carry out all powers of this policy.

The following actions are prohibited by patrons on Library property:

  • Selling and/or soliciting for services, money or items

  • Distributing or posting printed materials/literature that have not been approved by the Library

  • Possessing or consuming alcohol or illegal drugs or being under the influence of such

  • Smoking or other uses of tobacco

  • Consuming food or beverage in any type container or bringing in packaged or unpackaged food or   beverages (except for in the public meeting room by an organization that has reserved the room)
